19:15

we are finished for today. good distance results.

16:55
speed of round 4 went ok, but not entirely to our hopes. Steffen missed one signal.
Duration started very easy in group 1. But continued really difficult in the next group. The thermals remain strong, but the time in between gets bigger, making the planning difficult. This will probably b even more difficult with the upcoming distance task.

13:15
we just finished round 3. Weather is good with low to mid south-eastern winds and strong thermals since a few hours. Distance in the morning was tricky. The decider was mostly the turns and launch altitude.
Speed differentiated a lot due to the thermals going through the flying area. Andreas made a great 13.3s best time. Steffen came close first with a beautiful flight as well, but after landing we got the message that one turn was just minimal too short. The reflight was still good with 15,X seconds.
Jens and Theo with mid 15 second flights as well.
Duration brought big thermals but usually far away from each other.
Jens had to fight a bit but found a good spot after a lot of lost altitude in the beginning.
Theo made it a nail biter. Down at 20m after half the time, finds several thermals and looses them several times just to easily make it in the end. Great job.
Now lunch and we continue with round 4 speed at 13:50.

8:35

we just started duration of round 3.

Feed (newest first):

19:30
we are finished for today. Great results in distance. Theo and Andreas had some damage to their models, but both reparable. We had some small problems during the day but we still managed to give our pilots the best conditions. We additionally work on fixing them to avoid these unnecessary mistakes in the first place.
We had a great day and like to thank all our sponsors for their support!
Mandrill, Airclip, Hölleinshop, Hepf. Today was our Mandrill shirt-day. Thank you very much! Picture soon!

17:25
Speed round 2 completed. Matthias with a good 16.6s and Steffen just made a 15.75s flight. 2nd fastest time

16:57
Duration was really difficult. Strong thermals, but big areas of big sinking.
Continue with Speed. Bad conditions at the beginning, but currently improving, including change of wind direction.
Andreas and Theo not happy, but ok. Jens with a great 15s time!

14:07
We have our lunchbreak and some rest. Speed went through without any hickups. The conditions stayed quite bad regarding windstrength and thermals in the flying area. Steffen was able to keep the best time all the way through the task. Theo, Jens and Matthias are not as happy with their speeds, but are still good in comparison to the field.
We finished the first round and will continue after the break with duration.

12:28
Jens with bad air conditions with a 18.72s.

12:14
Continuaton with Speed Round 1. Still very low wind.
Steffen managed 15.84s as first pilot.

11:14
Distance is completed and it went well for us. We continue with duration. The wind is almost nothing. But the Thermals are very strong when you find them.
Organization and performance of all teams is great. no major mistakes. The officials are also doing an amazing job, keeping the competition relaxed. Perfect for the first day.

9:36

We started directly at 8:30 with the first group of duration.
Steffen was in the first group and managed to make the 1000 clearly in extremely calm conditions.
We are flying thin lines, the altitude is low and the usual results are under 20 legs.

As Team Manager i can say that Team Germany is relaxed but exited for the WC. We have everything prepared and we are happy to be here in Nardt at the 2025 World Championship!

„Foocup“ 2024 – Training days , 24./25.8.

After Binningen was canceled, we started to think about a team training session. Markus was so kind to invite us, and five Foos met at the Windberg. And wind we have! Thickest ropes and even some thicker winch diameter to avoid too many breaking ropes. But still, we have quite a few problems.

Altitudes are amazing with very heavy ballast. speed times are low, we already managed to get below 13s. (Markus)

How is the training organized?

We prepared four winches for easy return of all ropes by one person. In speed, you fly all four winches once, then you rotate to the B base to press the button for the turns of the next pilot. Afterwards you get the flown ropes and help the next Pilot or modify your aircraft.

Thos works quite efficiently. we are also testing the picamtracker hard and software, but have some problems currently. Reliabiltity and orientation is not good enough for the very tightest turns yet. some more tuning will happen over the day.

Sunday

wind is a little lower, but we still started directly with a breaking rope… hopefully not so many more today. We had around 15 yesterday. But of course we are flying some quite old and already repaired lines.

Weather is great with a bit lower temperature, but the sun already has power to make it feel quite warm.

We did several distance tasks today. Boy, do i have to do some setup optimization in the next weeks. It did not go so well for me. In both good and bad conditions…

Weather holded perfectly and we had an amazing weekend. A huge thanks to Markus for the invitation. We will gladly come back some time!

Now, we are on our way back home. But not for very long: Lünen is up in afew weeks and we will drive back up into the Pott!
